Prompt payment

A motorist has just settled a parking ticket in Pennsylvania…44 years after it was issued. The ticket, from 1974, was for $2 and concerned parking in a restricted zone. The guilty party mailed $5 to the relevant Police Department, with a letter claiming he’d always intended to pay. He stated his name only as “Dave” and provided a return address of “Feeling guilty, Wayward Road, Anytown, Ca”. “That means I only made $3 in 44 years”, Police Chief Michael Combs complained, not entirely seriously, after receiving the money.
